After successfully unleashing floods of laughter on several comedy events across Jamaica, Leighton Smith has firmly established a reputation for reliability and has unquestionably claimed his place among the top stand-up comics in the island. Chris Di Entertainer
Mandeville-based comedian Christopher “Chris Di Entertainer” Larmond discovered his talent at an early age, playing numerous roles in Christmas Church plays. It was the outburst of laughter and the smiles on the faces of the audiences that drew him closer to the Performing Arts.
Christopher attended the Vocational Training and Development Institute (VTDI), and helped to form a vibrant drama group called the VTDI Xpressionites. He wrote his first monologue called “Double Minded”, based on a person of unsound mined living on the street. This piece was entered into Tallawah Dramatic Festival held annually at the UWI, Philip Sherlock Centre for the creative arts and got a standing ovation and was one of the most talked about pieces of the festival.
Years later, he ran into Christopher “Johnny” Daley who was seeking persons to audition in his Comedy Bus series. Larmond was not initially interested, but he was encouraged by Daley to enter and eventually finished in the top 10.
Chris then took a break from stand-up comedy to complete his studies, while doing a few emcee gigs. A few years elapsed, then he once again met up with Johnny who told him about the idea of a Comedy Bar and asked him to come on board. After doing the Open Mic segment at the Comedy Bar, he regained his passion for the stage, and added more material to his set.
He officially stamped his mark of return to the stage when he opened for Mark Trinidad at Comedy on the Rocks in Montego Bay. He then performed at the annual “Come Mek Wi Laugh” in Kingston and St. Elizabeth. He has also opened for both Shuler King and Alfred Kainga in Montego Bay at The Johnny Comedy Bar Special sold out shows in 2018, and recently performed at the Dufton “Duffy” Shepherd show Slightly Unhinged.
Additionally, Chris has also hosted shows for several corporate entities such as Digicel, Sutherland Global, and several government ministries. He has also performed duties at parties, events and receptions, all of which have given him great reviews. Chris Di Entertainer continues to make his mark in the performing arts and provides exceptional performances whenever he performs.
Dale Dwight McKay, Diego 'The Cross-Eyed Villain' hails from Spanish Town, St. Catherine. Coming from a big family, he has 4 brothers and 3 sisters. Growing up in this household has made him very outspoken, jovial and God-fearing. His friends would say that Diego is controversial, has a dark sense of humour, brave, unique, intelligent and "nuh normal". It was only natural that he set his course for a career in Entertainment because of his ability to make people laugh.
Diego was introduced to Chris 'Johnny' Daley by a friend who entered him into the open mic competition at the Johnny Live Comedy Bar; on that night, his comedic career was born! His comedy journey grew thereafter, performing at various comedy events across Jamaica alongside international acts; The Johnny Live Comedy Bar Special in Montego Bay with African-American sensation, Alfred Kainga; The Outburst comedy show with Mike Epps and Majah Hype, Best Care Foundation Charity Show at Jamaica College, Ellis International Christmas Comedy Cook Up and Laugh Out Loud with Emanuella.
Now a part of the Johnny Live Productions Talent Team, Diego plans to continue his comedy career working in new material, staying current and graduating to overseas shows. "The sky is the linit", he says, as he wants to be acknowledged as a Jamaican comedian that showcases their talent all over the world.
